“I Want You To Love Me”

Richard Del Connor moved his family from Utah to California at the end of 1999 in fear of some apocalypse being prepared for by the Utah Mormons of the Church of Latter Day Saints. Richard’s friends were even quitting the police force and moving out of town. Mormons were stocking food and supplies in their bomb shelters… The Millennium provoked incredible fear in Utah.

“Let’s Go To Church” BASS POEM

Richard, The Hippy Coyote “The Coyote,” spent his first year in a remote California wilderness cabin in the Angeles Forest with an outhouse and house water pumped from the stream that flowed through his front year. Although inundated with scorpions and kangaroo rats, Coyote enjoyed a rustic pioneer life homeschooling his daughter and protecting his 2-year old son from being eaten by a large puma (mountain lion) that would sit on their roof waiting to pounce on her prey exiting for the outhouse not attached to their rustic cabin built by miners in 1915.

“House Of Rejection”

Richard’s wife fell in love with a fellow Xerox employee and Coyote found solace and comfort from a Salt Lake City student of his Shaolin Chi Mantis school who chatted with him romantically by email. Long distance phone calls were billed by the minute, so Coyote struggled with a unrequited romance that inspired many of the songs on this American Zen album, LEVEL 3 = I Want You To Love Me.

“Civilized World” BASS POEM

Sometimes she would call and Coyote would play his Rickenbacker bass that she would listen to while masturbating. This sexually stimulated musical writing style led to his creation of “BASS POETRY” on this album. The song, “1,000 Sorrows For A Love,” is an email letter read by Coyote then overdubbed with THREE BASSES providing a sexual musical harmony of love.
